Three beautifully painted Hindeloopen children's chairs are available. Featuring a ladder-back design, hand-painted details, and a rush seat, these chairs date back to around 1900.

The tradition of painting walls, furniture, and small objects in Hindeloopen has been practiced for approximately 300 years, likely influenced by the floral and scroll motifs on various background colors seen in Scandinavian design. Over time, antique pieces have shown an increasing level of artistry and refinement, developing a distinct style and character. The popularity of Hindeloopen furniture began around 1800 but declined as the small towns along the Zuiderzee coast rapidly fell into poverty.
